320 million euros will be invested in tourism in 2019
The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism has been satisfied with the impressive records that were achieved in the field of tourism last year, especially regarding revenues and number of tourists, counting 2,1 million, which is 100 thousand more than in 2017. For the first time has been achieved revenue of 1 billion euros.
The Minister of Sustainalbe Development and Tourism, Pavle Radunovic, said that the 320 million euros is estimated value for investment in tourist facilities in 2019.
Opinions for the technical documentation were issued for 16 new hotels in five coastal towns. For the first time in Montenegrin history in last year million of tourists stayed in hotels, while in ten months four million nights were achieved. From the Ministry are proud of the fact that, as far as hotel facilities concerned, 51% of the category are four and five stars, which shows an increase of 6% in regard to the last year.
The Minister consider that the process of legalization of illegally built objects started well because of for the process of legalization appllied 51,000 citizens. Airborne recording is complited, and after overlapping data from 3-D orthophoto image, cadastral and data on constructed objects, they will obtain precise record of illegally built objects are obtained.
Radunovic announced the growth of all parameters this year, taking into account the increase in accommodation capacities, the number of destination with which Montenegro is connected with air traffic and the greater interest of tourists outside the main season, all in achieving the strategic goal of becoming Montenegro’s a high-end tourist destination throughout the whole year.
