The EU has allocated 3.6 million euros for rail and digital infrastructure
The European Union has allocated an additional EUR 3.6 million in Montenegro for the preparation of project documentation for projects that will strengthen infrastructure in the area of rail transport and the digital sector, said from Office for European Integration.
Preparation of major projects for the reconstruction of the Golubovci-Bar railway line as well as the part of the Bar-Vrbnica railway line, which is part of the EU ‘s Main Transport Network, will be financed.
The goal is to make transport more efficient, with the fulfillment of safety standards in line with EU rules.
Also, it is the first time that the EU has supported Montenegro in the preparation of project documentation for the improvement of infrastructure in the digital sector in the amount of 600,000 euros.These funds will be spent on building the infrastructure necessary for better coverage of rural areas and parts of Montenegro that are not currently fully covered by the Internet.
The financial support of the European Union for the preparation of projects by which we are bulding a new infrastructure is the best confirmation of european perspective of Montenegro, concludes Natinal IPA Coordinator Ivana Glišević Đurović.
