Montenegro is the best-ranked country in the region on the list of the Global Open Economy Index
Montenegro is on the list of the Global Open Economy Index which is regularly published by the British Foundation Legatum Institute, the best-ranked country in the region, announced from the Government.
The aim of the research is to present the benefits created by economic competitiveness and openness, to define and measure the degree of economic openness in a way that will be useful for the implementation of adequate policies that will improve economic stability and prosperity, concluded in the announcement.
This year’s survey covers 157 countries, ranked in terms of openness and assessment of factors affecting trade ability, both domestically and internationally. Our country, ranked 48th, achieved a four-position improvement over last year.
It was stated from the Government that according to the findings of the report, Montenegro has continuously improved its openness over the 10-year period and ranks second in the 10-year success rate compared to other countries, ranked in the report.
At the global level, Hong Kong is ranked first in terms of openness, Singapore and the Netherlands ranked second and third, respectively, with the United Kingdom seventh and the United States (ninth).
