An investment of 246 million euros is planned for HPP Komarnica
The Government has determined the Proposal of Decision on Adoption of the Detailed Spatial Plan for the Multipurpose Reservoir on the Komarnica River, the most important document which is a precondition for entering the capital energy facility – 170-meter-high hydroelectric power plant with installed capacity 170 MW, capacity 209 GWh.
The plan covers the central course of the river Komarnica, 5577 ha, and spreads over the territory of the municipalities of Savnik and Pluzine and has great hydropower potential.
The most important criterion for defining the elevation of normal deceleration is not to disturb the natural regime in the Savnik zone and in the Nevidio canyon zone.
With the implementation of the Detailed Spatial Plan, Montenegro will receive benefits from the aspect of electricity, and thus from the aspect of development of agriculture, tourism and improvement of infrastructure in this part of the municipalities. The plan was submitted to the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina for an opinion, from which Montenegro received recommendations regarding the environment, impact on the air, climate and human health.
The estimated value of the investment is estimated at 246.53 million euros, while the implementation is planned for a period of five years. During the development of this Detailed Spatial Plan, the Spatial Plan of Montenegro, which is valid until 2020, as well as the Energy Strategy until 2030, was used as a starting point.
