The recapitalization of the World Bank entails more significant investments in development projects in Montenegro
The recapitalization of the World Bank entails even more significant investments of this international financial institution in development projects in Montenegro. Finance Minister Darko Radunovic said during the meeting with the Executive Director of the Dutch Board of the World Bank Committee Franck Himskerk that in the first focus will be the reduction of poverty and investment in human capital and infrastructure. He also emphasized that the World Bank projects in Montenegro are well diversified and correspond to the current vision of the development of the Montenegrin economy by supporting the competitiveness of higher education, strengthening the capacity of the Tax Administration and strengthening the fiscal position, as well as addressing issues of waste management and ecological sustainability of Montenegro.
Himskerk supported the engagement of the IFC (International Finance Corporation), which is part of the World Bank Group by the Government of Montenegro as a consultant in the airport transformation project. He stated that this international financial organization has unquestioned expertise and credibility in the drafting of concession projects and public-private partnerships on the world market.
